Language of edition: russian The historic and genealogical study “Progressors” deals with the story of the paired originally Jewish families Chernomordik and Berdichevsky. The foreword of M.A. Danilova, a descendant of both families, introduces to the theme. The study is supplied by the numerous illustrations from the family, archival, museum sources, books and periodicals. The characters in the story (scientists, doctors, educators etc.) actively participated in the historical events in our country. The other study, “The Jewish cenotaphs in Moscow”, is made by the author as the really first demonstration of spontaneous and massive construction of cenotaphs by the Jewish habitants of Moscow, that widely unfolded after the WW II. This movement became the predecessor of Yad Vashem construction, the “Immortal regiment” action and other initiatives of more recent time.
