Goncharenko Marija Illivna

(1943 –)

Architect. Born on December 2, 1943 in Kyiv. Graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Kyiv Civil Engineering Institute (now Kyiv National University of Civil Engineering and Architecture) in 1966. Worked in the following institutions in Kyiv:

– Kyiv Zonal Research Institute of Experimental Design;

– State Institute of Urban Planning;

– Kyiv Research Institute of Theory and History of Architecture and Urban Planning;

– Institute of Biographical Research of the V. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine;

– Institute of Art History, Folklore and Ethnology named after M. Rylsky of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Among the completed architectural projects:

– a hotel for tourists in Lviv (1968-1969, author in the group at the level of working drawings, built);

– a hotel for tourists in Odessa (1969-1971, author in the group at the level of working drawings, built);

– standard project No. 244-4-29 “Tourist center for 300 places with expansion to 500 places” (1968-1969, author in the group, repeatedly implemented);

– project of the resort area of Myrhorod for 12,000 people (1971, author in col.);

– general plan of the Chkalov sanatorium in Odessa (1971-1972, author in collaboration);

– club-dining room of the Chkalov sanatorium for 500 seats (1972-1975, author, completed);

– a competitive project for a permanently operating pioneer camp-recreation center (1975, author in the group, based on two typical projects);

– “Blue Bay” holiday home for 1,200 people in the village of Planerskoye (1975-1976, author in the collective, technical project).

Among the completed scientific research works:

– Dictionary of monuments of urban planning and architecture of Cherkasy region (responsible performer, 1987);

– Historical and architectural reference plan and project of protection zones for historical and cultural monuments of the historical part of the city of Uman (responsible executor, author in the team, 1990);

– “Preparation of the List of Historical Settlements of Ukraine (Villages)”, carried out in September 2003 – January 2005 by order of the Department of Restoration and Reconstruction of Historical Buildings of the State Construction Agency of Ukraine (one of the authors and responsible executor);

– Submission of the historical environment of the city of Chernivtsi to the UNESCO cultural heritage (author in the team, 2004);

– General plan for the development of the historical and cultural reserve “Stara Uman” (one of the authors, 2006).

A number of historical and urban planning justifications in Kyiv, in particular: Urban planning and historical and architectural assessment of the development of the quarter bounded by Vorovsky, Gogolivska, Yuriy Kotsiubynsky and Observatornaya streets, in which the design site of the residential building of the Children’s Uronephrology Clinic of the Kyiv Institute of Urology and Nephrology is located (as of December 2000).

Carried out work on the certification of architectural monuments of Ukraine, compiling Registers of architectural monuments in individual regions and cities of Ukraine.
